Greetings Arch Hunters...today is Arch Wednesday! (Issue #14)
Worldwide arch count: 6070 (Net Change: +22)
Each week we update the World Arch Database (WAD) with newly reported arches as well as more accurate data and/or photos for existing arch entries. Each Wednesday (day may vary), we send you a list of the updated arch entries with a summary of what has changed.
Natural Bridges Project:
We are updating data and entering more arches in the general area of
Natural Bridges National Monument in San Juan County, Utah, USA, in
anticipation of the NABS 2013 Spring Arch Rally in this area. The
Journal of Natural Arch Discoveries (JNAD) has quite a few arches which
are not currently in the WAD. Other sources for this project include
UtahArches.com, emails and letters I have received from arch hunters
over the last 6 years, and Internet research.
We have just gotten started on this project and will have updates in the next Arch Wednesday.
To get the
fun started, we have included a photo of the small but beautiful
Arch of the Sun, on the side of Moss Back Butte adjacent to White
Canyon (photo by John Remakel).
Bad News: Vreeland's 23-36 in Lake County, Minnesota on Lake Superior has fallen! (reported by Nicholus Terzakis).
Happy Arch Hunting!
